Updates

LEAP has had quite a bumpy summer.  We have changed our location, we have changed our day of the week and now we are changing our starting date.  It isn’t 100% yet, but we are pretty confident we are beginning on September 5th.  My Pastor has been on vacation.

Here are a list of pages that have been updated since Back to School Night.  If you have already printed your notebook, and I hope you have, you can just pencil in the changes or print a new page when ever it gets too messy.

This list is also found in the “course descriptions for 2008-09″ located on the left hand side BAR, it is located down on the list under Pre-K-1st grade.

Due to the fact that it is a little hard to find, I put it here for now.  Remember you can always use the “Search” box on the bottom of the left hand side BAR.

This petition has been sponsored by an extraordinarily special young man named C.J. Phillips. He has been a part of our homeschool group on and off for years.

Please join him (or at least sign the petition) at next school board meeting.  Thursday 8/21  at 7:30 p.m. at the H.B.E. Cafeteria. (Hamilton Bicentennial Elementary School)

He will be there by himself to ask for them to respect in allowing home school students to join clubs.

To everyone who does not know how to get there:

From Port Jervis take 209 North For 6 miles After the Neversink, green, narrow bridge take the second left into the H.B.E parking lot you can not miss it.  It is a big brown building.

Thank You

Terri Phillips

“In God We Trust”

MSNBC is conducting a live vote to see if “In God We Trust” should stay on our nation’s currency.  This is a chance for use to educate the public and stand up for our beliefs.  Let your vote be counted.  Visit the website and vote.

(From Wikipedia)

The phrase “separation of church and state” is derived from a letter written by Thomas Jefferson in 1802 to a group identifying themselves as the Danbury Baptists. In that letter, referencing the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, Jefferson writes:

“Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between Man & his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legitimate powers of government reach actions only, & not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should “make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,” thus building a wall of separation between Church & State.” [8]

Our Prayers are answered

We have a new home in First Assembly of God, Port Jervis, New York. They are willing to take us in and meet most of our needs. They don’t have a gym, but do have a newly paved driveway and large fellowship area that may be used for gym activities.

We thank God for his blessings and favor to us.

Posted as of this date are the new Class, Teacher and Student Schedules for the Regular Day Schedule which will still be held on Thursdays. Also revised are the Class Grade schedule in Section 2 and the Calendar which has been updated to reflect our new facility.

We are looking

We are currently looking at 10 different facilities in the Tri-State area. Some have very nice amenities, but most don’t have the minimum that we are looking for. We would like to stay on the same days, times, low cost, 7 or more classrooms, kitchen, gym, storage, nursery…

So, due to this searching and uncertainty, we are delayed in posting the new schedules until we see how the new facility may affect the schedule.
