Operation Christmas Child Boxes

Thanksgiving and Christmas are almost here.  What better way for your family to give to the needy then to put together a shoe box for child. Don’t know what Operation Christmas Child is all about? Well, please click on the link below and let Franklin Graham (Rev. Billy Graham’s son) tell you about it.

Our host church, First Assembly of God, is one of many National drop off centers. They will be collecting boxes from November 16 thru November 22.  Please plan on bringing a box or two or three… with you when you come for Competition Night on the 22nd.  The Honor Bound Motor Cycle club will just be finishing up packing up crates of boxes to be shipped all over the world.

Many families have each child do a box. The website has a list of appropriate gifts and ones that are not allow. Please review the list. There are also labels that you can print off the website or they are available in the foyer of First Assembly of God.  Don’t forget to add a personalized note from your family and a photo.  Many families do hear back from the grateful child, it is very exciting to see where your box will end up.

4-H Meetings

Calendar of Events 2009-10 has been updated with the “Saints” 4-H Business Meetings and Parties for the year.  If you have a LEAP student in 3rd grade and up, please join us on these days and come see what 4H is all about.

These meetings double as both 4H Meetings and LEAP Student Council meetings.

This is a chance for the students to have a voice in our little neck of the woods.  Students will learn parliamentary procedures such as making a motion, having a motion on the floor, voting, running for office, elections and so much more.  Students also choose annual community service projects and field trips.

So, “Saints”, come on out to our monthly meetings and get involved.

4-H Open House

Looking for a fun field trip this Saturday, September 12, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

see this 4-H Flyer

4-H Open House on the Farm

LEAP is at home…

at First Assembly of God again.  The board has approved our request to remain at the church another year.

So, please come visit us on June 18 for registration day.  Times 10 a.m. to 12 noon.

Class schedules are in the works.  Choices are the usually juicy classes.  Home Economics, Sciences, Writing and Poetry, Gym, Dramas, Guitar, Spanish, Arts…  Most of the same classes you love to see at LEAP.

The ultimate schedule will be determined by number of students, number of teachers and so on.

We will post a sample schedule soon.

If you are considering  joining  LEAP or returning, please let us know soon.  We like to know by June 1, we really need to know by June 18, we will still take you by July 1,   After that, well, you have until August 1 for paperwork.  SO, please Pray, Pray, Pray and let us know.

Why so early, well, classes need to be organized, teachers need to know number of students so they can buy supplies, parents need to know what classes will be covered by LEAP so they don’t have to order books for home, you get the picture.

4-H Business Meeting

Please remember that the 4-H business meeting is this Friday, 3:00 at Grace Fellowship. (The original Calendar date was for Thursday but we have been having them all year at the end of Alternate day.)

Please bring any snack to share–believe it or not it is Easter if your looking for a theme.

Be prepared to register for any office you hope to run for. Also any thing you said you would follow up.
