Nov 11 – Farm Gleaning in the Pine Island Area – helping local food banks and some for yourself

Final Events At LEAP

Wow, the school year is winding down for many of us. This Friday is our last day of classes.

Apr 24 – Last Regular Day

- Money due for Dinner Theater

- Report Cards Due (see previous website message)

- Yearbook pages due and class pictures taken (bring camera and help!!!)

Apr 25 – Closing Program – 6 p.m. at First Assembly of God (visitors welcome)

Apr 27-28 – SAT Testing at LEAP (must have registered last month)

Apr 30   – Dinner Theater (Advanced Reservations required)

June 1    – Would love to know if you are returning or joining us by this date.

June 18 – Registration Day (New and Returning Members)

July 1    – Deadline for registering for Fall Semester 2009

Homeschool Parent Support Dinner

The LEAP Annual Homeschool Parent Support Dinner is coming up soon.

Friday, March 6

6:30 p.m.

First Presbyterian Church, 308 Broad Street, Milford, PA

Cost for LEAP members is $6.00 per person

Non-LEAP Members $12.00

Please email leaphomeschool@gmail.com for reservations.  Cash or check payable to LEAP at door.

This is a parent support dinner, no children allowed, no on-site babysitting available – start planning now.

This year’s guest speaker is Peter Armstrong, LEAP Board member for over 10 years.

Activities also include “are you smarter than your child” game and silent auction.  (anyone may bid and/or bring a new or like new item to donate for sale.)

Dinner consists of appetizers, buffet meal, dessert and hot and cold beverages.

Parent Support Dinner

Tonight is the annual Parent Support Dinner, 6:30 p.m., 1st Presbyterian Church, Milford

Guest speaker is Rev. Brenda Cates, pastor’s wife at Ellenville Assembly of God

She will be speaking on “Remembering your first love”

Advanced reservations are required, see any LEAP board member or the sign in table.

Reminders

1) Skating Friday (see forwarded message)

2) Parent Dinner tomorrow night, 6:30pm. Please remember your silent auction item—something new, very gently used, or antique, or possibly a service from yourself or a business. The auction not only helps in fundraising but adds some extra fun to the night.

Hope those babysitters are all lined up, and that your looking forward to a night of renewal as we remember “Our First Love”—in homeschooling that is!

3) Be sure March 17th, a Monday, is on your Calendars. It is a REGULAR DAY make up, so everyone attends. (Tomorrow we will discuss the Alternate Day make up.)

Please be ready on Thursday to sign up for Dinner and/or Testing Dinner Info:

-Sign up & “payment” this Thursday, February 28
-Friday March 7th (snow date March 8th)
- Milford Presbyterian Church, Milford PA
- 6:30 p.m. -$6.00 per person ($12 per person Non-LEAP Homeschoolers)
-This is a “Parent” Dinner – no children, no babysitting!!!
-volunteer helpers? 2 more helpers are needed helpers for set-up and 3 more helpers for clean-up after the dinner.

Testing Info:

-Sign up & “payment” deadline this Thursday, February 28
-Testing dates April 14 & 15 – 8:45 a.m. – ?? 1-3p.m.
- Milford Bible Church -May drop off and leave children who are testing, do not need to stay
-Babysitting for Testing “teachers only” Copies of forms will be at sign up table, fill out, attach payment.

NYS tax is 8.125% which is $3.25 for each $40 test; $6.50 for 2 tests($80), and so on… Make checks payable to: BJU Testing and Evaluation or see credit card info on last page. Any questions call Karen.

NOTE about Testing: These tests are for grades k-12 This is not the College Board Test that you need in high school to get into college. When you fill out the grade, “you” decide what grade you want your child tested at.

The guest speaker is Brenda Cates.  She is the wife of Rev. Bill Cates from Ellenville Assembly of God.  She is the Women’s Ministry President for the Hudson Valley and Bill is the Presbyter for New York State.  They have been homeschooling their 2 children for over 11 years.  Please come and join us as Brenda reminds us the “Remember Our First Love”.   Do you remember when you were just “Mom”?
