Subway Apologizes to Homeschoolers

Follow up on the letter from HSLDA.  Subway has apologized with a up coming contest that will “include” homeschoolers.  What about including us in the current one???  All they have to state is that no “individual” may win the prize, that it must be received by a public, private or non-profit organization.  Our local Youth Recreation Department which runs tennis lessons, soccer, baseball little league, pop warner football and more would have gladly received this prize.  These are organizations that allow all tax payers in their towns to participate in their organizations.  We also have a local YMCA camp, a bunch of non-profit Bible camps, many preschools; shoot, I would have donated it to the local school so my children’s friends could reap the benefits.

Thanks to HSLDA re: Subway and Homeschooling

Thank you to HSLDA for their letter to Subway.

We have recently been trying to work with the Port Jervis School District in asking them to allow homeschoolers to participate in events at and around the school.  It would have been nice for a homeschooler to be able to donate $5,000 to the school district as a good will gesture.  Many people just assume that we as homeschoolers are anti-schools.  They don’t realize how many homeschool families work as teachers in these schools.  Hopefully this event with help shed light on the fact that homeschool families are American’s too, of the “United” States of America.

Subway – No Homeschoolers Welcome

Wow, todays buzz around other homeschool and Christian sites are all raging about the new Subway writing contest that allows:  “elementary, private or parochial schools that serve grades PreK-6. No home schools will be accepted.”

Here are a few sites that I found some interesting information on.  Please google keywords Subway and Homeschool, you will not believe what you will find.  This is very sad that our children are being excluded.    Well, guess I won’t be eating there any time soon.

What’s the matter, they afraid we’re going to win!!!
